Their services include an Information enquiry service about local and national self help groups and networks, and the annual Directory of Self Help Support Groups, which lists established groups in Greater Nottingham, as well as local, regional and national contacts and resources for individuals living with a range of conditions and their carers. Self Help Nottingham also offers training and development support for groups, a range of open workshops and networking opportunities and they work with individual groups in response to their particular needs. They provide Service User and Carer Involvement work at strategic and operational levels with local NHS organisations and in partnership with the University Of Nottingham School Of Nursing.

They are looking to take a number of new products to market, including establishing and selling the Directory on a national scale, and are working towards becoming a Social Enterprise with a national trading arm. They are currently looking for Business Champion support in writing a strategy and identifying key factors involved in selling these new products and developing a new commercial focus, as such they are keen to hear from Champions with an understanding of roots to market. The time commitment is flexible, and the aims may be met within a single meeting, after which the Champion may wish to take on the role of 'critical friend' or continue as a mentor for the CEO.
