Mansfield
Rumbles Catering Project are a Social Enterprise based in Clipstone Village, Mansfield. Their aim is to educate and train young persons and adults resident in the county of Nottingham who are disadvantaged, whether or not by reason of their disability or social or economic circumstances, within a realistic working environment so as to enable them to obtain work experience and to promote independent living and personal development. They provide a number of training courses and opportunities for practical learning through their trading arm.
They have over the last few years won several awards, including The Big 7 National Lottery "Best Education Project 2007". They do not feel that they have ever really taken advantage of their successes, and are now looking for Business Champions to help them identify more effective ways to market the organisation and publicise their success. They would also like a Business Champion to assist them with their Business plan, allowing them to expand their organisation and aid the development of some new Social Enterprises. As such, they are looking for a Champion with a Marketing Background, and a Champion who has experience of Business Planning; one Champion may be able to fulfil both these roles. The request may be fulfilled in a single meeting, after which the Champion may wish to continue to support in the role of ‘critical friend’.
