The Mighty Creatives are looking for Business Champions to join their Board of Trustees and take an active role in the company’s development.

The Mighty Creatives is based in Leicester and was set up as an independent charity in 2009 to champion young people's creativity in the East Midlands. They are managing an annual budget of around £4m and have over 20 members of staff working across the region. Children and young people are central to the purpose and priorities of the organisation and, increasingly, young people are helping to manage the programmes and activities.

They currently have a Board of 5 members who helped set up the organisation in April 2009. They are all based in the region and work in schools, local authorities, government agencies and arts and cultural sector organisations.  They now want to increase the number of Board members to around 10 people, aged 16 or over, who can make a contribution to the organisation’s development and help the Mighty Creatives to grow.

Board meetings and events take place around the East Midlands and Board members will need to travel across the region. They meet four times a year, generally in March, June, September and December, and meetings last half a day.  Board members are actively engaged with each of the projects, and are often given opportunities to take part in events and visits.
