2398 - Carers Sitting Service - Management Committee Director

The Carers Sitting Service is a not-for-profit organisation with charitable aims. Established in March 2003, Carers Sitting Service receives funding from Derbyshire PCT. They provide short spells of respite care to "carers" in their own home. This care is provided by fully trained police checked Care Support Workers. They currently employ 15 care workers, who meet the needs of the clients and conduct their work in a true caring and professional manner. In 2009, Carers Sitting Service provided over 1000 sitting hours per month.

The overall direction of the organisation is reliant upon the existing Management Committee comprising one director and five committee members, who meet each month in Cresswell, Alfreton. To aid the future development and success of the organisation, the Carers Sitting Service is looking to appoint two new directors to the Management Committee. They are keen to hear from Business Champions with a background in human resources or with financial expertise. They hope that the new directors are able to bring their specialist skills and knowledge and really make a difference to the local community.
