New College Nottingham (ncn) is an independent Further Education Corporation serving the Greater Nottingham area. ncn delivers a wide range of vocational and academic programmes from entry level to honours degrees, with over 20,000 enrolments in 2008/09. It offers both traditional and non-traditional academic courses, as well as vocational studies. The College mission is “to be a world class college transforming the lives of people and communities”.

The College is currently looking for a Champion to join the Corporation (Board). Their governors are volunteers responsible for the strategic direction and performance of the College. As a £45m business, they feel that it is particularly important to have financial skills within their Board. As such, they are looking to recruit an individual who has a financial background, they would ideally like to hear from a professionally qualified accountant with excellent financial and business management skills.

They are looking to appoint a Champion before 31 July 2010. Full board members are asked to attend approximately 5 board meetings per year plus 3 committee meetings; each is approximately 2.5 hours in duration.
